Hallvard Folkedal (Norway)
Where are you from and where do you live now?
Right now I live in Bergen, Norway, a city located in the western part of Norway, not too far from the mountains. I come from a little island called Karmøy, with almost no winter, so I have spent a lot of time in the family cabin, located in the mountains around Røldal. This place has almost been my second home during my childhood.
Your favorite mountains?
Growing up spending a lot of time in the mountains around Røldal, I have fallen completely in love with the mountains over there. There's playful terrain, steep faces and a lot of snow, even in the summer!
Your home ski area?
From Bergen, I have easy access to several resorts and my favorites are Voss and Eikedalen. Both resorts have great freeride areas and offers a lot of fun riding even on the icy days.
What was your first experience with skis?
I cannot really remember my first experience with skiing, since it is something I have always done. Skiing has always been an activity my family has been doing, and my older brother has always pushed and inspired me to excel at my skiing.
What are your favorite sports/hobby/activities?
Apart from skiing, I love doing pretty much every outdoor activity there is, whether its mountain biking, running or hiking. During my off days I also enjoy playing music and singing.
Why Majesty?
Majesty is the kind of ski brand that is not afraid to try out new ideas, in order to make the best skis possible, for skiers like me. I really like the fact that Majesty is a smaller company than the giants, that puts quality ahead of constant growth.
How long have you been with Majesty?
2020 is my fifth year skiing on the Majesty planks and it has been a pleasure all the way! It is great being part of a team where people care about each other and are good at what they do.
Any cool accomplishments with Majesty so far?
Competition-wise I don’t have many results that I am proud of but I got to show the Norwegian people a lot of my skiing through a television series some years back.
What are your future plans with Majesty?
My goal for the season is to do as much skiing as possible, as well as sharing the joy of skiing with other people.
