Strong + Playful + Stable + Technical
Big mountain performance designed for diverse backcountry terrain and variable snow versatility. The Vanguard is new for the 20/21 season and is best suited for skiers who love to play around in the backcountry. It is our next generation lightweight backcountry freeride ski in the fat 118 mm underfoot width category. The Vanguard is a strong and yet playful directional freeride twin tip that features a progressive mount point and a semi-symmetrical shape. Designed for both wide and open terrain as well as tight backcountry runs, it is loaded with versatility, agility and performance. The Vanguard is lightweight for its size and is built with our new 4x4 design concept: 4Radius sidecut + 4Radius rocker in the tip and tail.
The Vanguard’s lightweight construction combined with the 4x4 design, delivers incredible maneuverability while the unique combination of biax + triax fiberglass, carbon/aramid fibers and durable light wood core embraces high performance and just the right amount of 3D flex. Instead of being overly stiff, the Vanguard gives you flex when landing big jumps, spring when transitioning in turns, control when skiing across chewed-up crud and it delivers immediate response to your every input.
4 x 4 Design Concept
The 4Radius sidecut means that there are 4 radii in the sidecut of the skis. This gives more confidence in turns as you can engage the edge more effectively and keep it engaged easier and longer. It enhances your ability to make short sharp turns, long big mountain turns and release the edge when needed. It significantly improves the stability giving you more control and confidence in all types of terrain and speed.
The 4Radius rocker tips means that there are 4 radii in the rocker profile, which reduces drag, maximizes top speed and control.
