Deep dive:
The Superscout shares its shape, engineering and design principles with the ultralight Superscout Carbon skis. It is designed for touring enthusiasts who seek light weight for the uphill climb but who prefer a more forgiving and softer ride. This is our versatile narrow-waisted touring ski (83-85mm) that offers a perfect balance between uphill performance and stable, confident skiing in highly variable snow including heavy spring snow. It is built with premium ultra-lightweight paulownia wood core wrapped in triaxial and biaxial fiberglass layup. It is slightly heftier than its full-carbon fiber cousin but still very lightweight with 1310g per ski @ 170cm and is also more gentle on your wallet. The most important characteristics of the Superscout when we designed it, was reducing weight while not compromising any downhill performance. You can be sure that these skis perform like downhill skis. The Superscout utilizes nearly the entire length of the contact edge which enhances grip in icy or packed snow, improves control and helps you drive into the turns. It handles high speed with ease and is very confident in variable snow. The shape of the camber suspension delivers agility and responsiveness with great power transmission. The Superscout touring skis offer a lot of fun and a very smooth edge-to-edge ride.
