      Majesty Supernova construction profile

      Deep dive:

The Supernova is our light weight backcountry-touring performer in the popular 101mm - 105mm underfoot category. Constructed with light paulownia wood core, full carbon fiber top sheet and aramid-carbon fibers that together deliver a perfect balance of high-performance, agility, enhanced maneuverability and light weight. The more apparent feature to point out here are the notably shorter flat tails. we call this feature "COT" - cut off tail. This stubby surfboard inspired construction shifts the binding mounting point slightly to the rear of the skis resulting in shorter and more agile / faster turning skis than the traditional near-center stance designs. Imagine skiing steep and tight couloirs, or gnarly tree runs, you'll want skis that you can turn on a dime, exactly when you need it. This ski design was created to enable more backcountry access for seasoned skiers, ski mountaineers and mountain pros who seek lightweight carbon skis for hiking and skinning up while at the same time skis that are fast, agile and responsive that do not compromise on downhills. This stubby tail design has effectively reduced the weight and length but it maintains or enhances the stability and skiability due to the the effective contact edge extending nearly the entire length of the skis. The end result here are shorter and lighter skis that perform as well or better on the downhills than any longer or heavier old-school designs.

In the last three seasons since we launched the Supernova Carbon skis, they have been recognized by several industry awards both in the E.U. and the U.S. including the Backcountry Magazine's 2019 Gear Guide Tester's Choice award.
